Jacquard is term used to describe fabric with colors & patterns woven directly into the cloth rather than simply printed onto it. Weaving process allowing very ornate, complex woven designs. Name of the Frenchman who revolutionized the weaving industry in 1800 (Joseph-Marie Jacquard). Brocade & damask are types of Jacquard-woven fabrics.
