This tablecloth takes its name from Louis XIV. The sun flower in this patern represent him, the Sun King (le Roi Soleil). The Fleur de Lys is the symbol of the french royalty. Louisiana was called after Louis XIV as Louis, Anna was his late mother Anne d'Autriche.
The pattern is woven reversible in Jacquard Centerguard — not printed, not applied, but built into the cloth itself, thread by thread, the way French textile makers have been doing it for three centuries. The blue is deep and exact. The motif is precise at every scale.
